Background
Animal shelters and rescues across the country are experiencing an acute crisis and need our help. A growing body of research suggests that foster programs have the potential to reverse the shelter crisis and help end preventable euthanasia in the United States. Foster programs positively impact every metric they touch and may be the strongest tool we have in the fight to save lives. Recent studies have found that just 1-2 days in a foster home makes a dog 14.3 times more likely to be adopted!*
The Problem
Right now, the immense life-saving potential of foster programs is being crippled by the absence of proper foster program management software. While existing software supports general shelter operations, none fully addresses the unique needs of foster programs. Foster programs demand a lot of logistics management (vet appointments, refills on food, monthly preventative medications, etc.) and also require the recruitment, training, management, and support of the volunteer foster caregivers who make it all possible!
Today, shelters and rescues report trying to manage their foster programs using up to nine disconnected software tools that weren’t built for this purpose, like Excel, Salesforce, and Trello. This is a huge problem because oftentimes due to staffing constraints, foster programs are run by only one or two people! As of now, overwhelming amounts of manual entry, crowded and disorganized inboxes, missed communications, and slow response times, can make running foster programs prohibitively time-intensive for the shelters that need them most, and discouragingly frustrating for foster caregivers.

For Shelters and Rescues
